National Day series, IBM APAC
The goal was to design a series of digital tiles with animations and illustrations for the National Day Series across India, Singapore, and Korea. This was to drive IBM brand build and advocacy by being part of National Day and showcasing the presence of IBM in these countries.
I built a visual system that could celebrate each country while remaining consistent across the larger series.
The illustrations were developed in a line based style that was minimal, simple, and precise. I focused on creating clean, pixel accurate forms that translated well across both static and animated formats. The idea was to keep the visuals accessible and recognisable without adding unnecessary detail.
Each country’s series drew from well known monuments and landmarks, which were simplified into graphic forms. The challenge was to retain identity and familiarity while maintaining a unified visual language across all three sets.
A limited colour palette was used for each country to keep the system cohesive and adaptable. The restrained use of colour helped the illustrations remain clear in motion while allowing subtle differences to reflect the character of each location.
The final animations were designed for digital use across APAC platforms, creating a consistent yet locally relevant way to mark National Day celebrations.
